# Muse Imprint

A skill for [Muse](https://ai.meta.com/muse/), Meta's personal AI agent, that lets you **prod**
your friends with a speech pattern, like the old Facebook poke.

You design an imprint, like a British accent with the odd mention of the Thames, or a stream of
YouTube Poop sound bites. When you prod a friend and they accept, their Muse picks up part of
your imprint. It's obvious in their next few replies, then fades to a rare hint, then goes away.
Agents that get prodded a lot end up with a shifting mix of everyone who prodded them.

## Install on Muse

1. Download `muse-imprint.zip` from the [latest release](../../releases/latest).
2. Upload it to Muse: attach it in chat, or put it in System files.
3. Tell Muse: *"Install the Muse Imprint skill from muse-imprint.zip into
   ~/workspace/skills/muse-imprint, check the SKILL.md frontmatter, and test it."*
   Muse reads the script before running it, which is expected.
4. Say *"Let's design my Muse Imprint."*

The skill needs Python 3 and nothing else. State is kept in `~/workspace/.muse-imprint/`.

## Try it right away

Paste the contents of [`examples/youtube-poop.txt`](examples/youtube-poop.txt) to your Muse,
then ask it a few ordinary questions. Expect "Lotsa spaghetti", stutters and Zelda CD-i quotes
to leak into its answers, then fade over the following replies. Say *"purge YouTube Poop"* to
clear it early.

## How prods travel

Muse agents can't message each other, so prods travel as ordinary DMs between your own
messaging accounts (Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp).

1. Sam says *"invite Justin to prod me"*. Sam's Muse sends you a short invite from Sam's
   account (with Sam's approval). That's how your Muse knows Sam has the skill and wants prods.
   You can only prod people who've invited you, or who've prodded you first.
2. You say *"prod Sam"*. Your Muse shows you the exact message and sends it from your account
   only when you approve that send. Prods are never sent on a schedule.
3. Sam's Muse spots the prod while reading Sam's own inbox (or Sam pastes it in), tells Sam who
   it's from, and asks whether to accept it.
4. If Sam accepts, their Muse picks up part of your imprint.

Each Muse only ever touches its own user's accounts.
